FDL Swatting Call

Fond du Lac Police arrested a 27-year-old Fond du Lac man for a “Swatting” call late Friday night. “Swatting” involves placing a 911 call that results in a SWAT team being deployed. This particular incident involved a report that a man with a gun was holding a woman hostage in the basement of a residence in the 100 block of 3rd Street. Police tried to call the phone number back that had been used to call 911, but the call went straight to voicemail. A perimeter was set up around the residence and a SWAT team was called in. Four people were taken into custody for questioning. No victims were found inside the residence. Eventually police tracked down the caller who was arrested and is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on pending charges.
