The Brewers have not officially named a starter yet for Friday night’s game one of the National League Championship Series but presumably it will be right-hander Jhoulys Chacin. The Dodgers have named ace lefty Clayton Kershaw. Milwaukee has won 11 straight. Tomorrow night’s first pitch from Miller Park is 7:09.

Boston won their American League Divisional Series with a 4-3 win over the Yankees. The Red Sox had a 4-0 lead and had to hang on in the ninth inning for the win. They open up Saturday against the Houston Astros in the first game of the American League Championship Series at Fenway Park in Boston.

The Packers are back on the practice field today, preparing for their Monday night match-up against the 49ers at Lambeau Field. Both teams are coming off losses. For the Pack, it’s still trying to absorb a disappointing effort against the Lions in Detroit. Green Bay comes into the game 2-2-1 while San Francisco is 1-4.

In Thursday night football, it’s the Philadelpia Eagles playing the New York Giants at the Meadowlands. The Super Bowl champion Eagles are struggling at 2-3 while the Giants are 1-4. Both are coming off tough losses this past Sunday.

The NBA preseason is nearing an end. The Bucks were off Wednesday and are off again tonight before hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night.
