Update:
The name of a 26-year-old Fond du Lac man killed in a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Eden Wednesday night has been released. Shawn Hoerth was driving his pickup truck north on Highway 45 when he crossed over the center line. His pickup struck the front passenger side tire of a semi. He was not buckled up and was thrown from the pickup. He died at the scene. Chief Deputy Ryan Waldschmidt says the truck driver tried to avoid hitting the pickup. “The semi driver did the best he could. It was a full-size tractor-trailer unit. He veered to the left and tried to avoid that oncoming vehicle, but that oncoming vehicle struck the front passenger corner of that semi.” Waldschmidt says they are trying to determine why Hoerth crossed over the center line. He says that will involve talking to people who interacted with Hoerth that day and the Medical Examiner might also have some answers. The truck driver, 39-year-old Mohamed Ahmed of Nashville Tennessee, was not hurt in the crash. The accident was reported at 8:23 pm.
