Officer Involved In Beaver Dam Shooting Identified

Dodge County Sheriff’s officials have released the name of the veteran Beaver Dam Police officer involved in the shooting of a 35-year-old Beaver Dam man last month. Linzenmeyer shot Richard Henke II in the legs during a call for a domestic disturbance. Henke was treated at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and later transferred to the UW-Hospital in Madison. An officer suffered minor injuries during the call to 510 Walnut Street.

State Patrol Sergeant Says Everyone Should Learn CPR

Three state troopers and a Good Samaritan are being credited for saving the life of a man who suffered a medical issue while he was a passenger in a vehicle on I-41 south of Fond du Lac Wednesday morning. A woman flagged down a state trooper who was in a crossover at I-41 and Church Road. The man wasn’t breathing and was unconscious so the trooper began CPR and soon a Good Samaritan, a doctor, pulled over and began giving the man breaths. After that two State Patrol Sergeants arrived and took turns giving the man CPR. One of them was Sergeant Luke Newman. A Fond du Lac ambulance crew took the man to St. Agnes Hospital. Newman says the man was reported to be in good condition. He says it is the first time he’s been involved in a successful CPR effort. “I have been involved in CPR efforts before. Unfortunately they were not successful so this is a great thing that this person made it through.” Newman says as first responders state troopers are required to know CPR and they just went through re-certification last week. He suggests everyone learn how to use CPR in case they are ever in a situation where a life is at stake.

FDL County DA Comments On Attempted Murder Sentencing

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says a shooting incident last fall near the County Jail could have been much more dangerous. Thirty-three-year-old Antino Jones of Fond du Lac was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision for shooting a man in the stomach. Jones fired three shots at the man at a time when there was other traffic on the road and in a residential neighborhood. “There didn’t appear to be any issues between the two of them prior to that evening. That type of behavior is never going to be tolerated in our community. It’s just not acceptable.” Toney says Jones had problems firing the gun, otherwise more shots would have been fired. The victim was in the courtroom for the sentencing Wednesday. Jones will actually serve closer to 23 years in prison because he also received time for a probation violation.

Feyen says he hopes in his new role he can build upon the State Senate’s past accomplishments and make it operate in an efficient and effective manner. Feyen was elected to serve the 18th State Senate District in 2016.
