A 33-year-old Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision for shooting another man in the stomach after a confrontation at a Fond du Lac tavern last fall. Wednesday Fond du Lac County Judge Peter Grimm sentenced Antino Jones on an attempted-first degree intentional homicide charge. According to the criminal complaint Jones got into an argument with another man at the tavern at the corner of Western Avenue and South Military Road after Jones walked in to the bar with a gun and the man told him he shouldn’t be there with a weapon. Later there was a confrontation down the street near the County Jail and Jones shot at the man three times hitting him once in the abdomen. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says, “Abhorrent violent crime of this nature shakes the core of community safety and it will never be accepted as normal in Fond du Lac County.”
