Duck Hunter Shot After Dog Steps On Shotgun
After being accidentally shot in his leg while duck hunting a 55-year-old Van Dyne man still managed to get his boat back to shore and hitch it to his vehicle before driving himself to St. Agnes Hospital this week. Authorities say Stewart Henderson was helping his dog back into the boat when it stepped on a shot gun knocking the safety off and tripped the trigger. Nine pellets from the bird shot ended up in his leg. The accident happened in the Horicon Marsh in Dodge County.
Milwaukee Man Gets Probation For Dodge County High Speed Chase
A 22-year-old Milwaukee man involved in high speed chases in Dodge and Washington counties in September of last year will spend two years on probation. A Dodge County judge this past week sentenced Javier McCants on a felony fleeing charge. The Dodge County pursuit was on Interstate 41 in the Town of Lomira and reached speeds of more than 90 miles an hour. The deputy was called off the chase after two miles. The pursuit in Washington County occurred the next day.
Oshkosh Sex Offenders
Two more sex offenders are now living in Oshkosh following their release from prison. Forty-five-year-old Nicholas Calewarts is living at 1037 Van Buren Avenue and 52-year-old David Short is living in Room 42 of the Town Motel at 215 Division Street. Calewarts was convicted of sexual assault and lewd and lascivious behavior and Short of possession and distribution of child porn.
