McCain had been battling brain cancer. He was 81-years-old.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) issued the following statement after learning of the passing of U.S. Sen. John McCain:
“My sincere condolences go out to the entire McCain family. John was a true American hero. He will be missed.”
MADISON – Governor Scott Walker Saturday ordered flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff in honor of U.S. Senator John McCain who passed away on August 25, 2018. This order is effective immediately and ends at sunset on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
“John McCain was an American hero who selflessly served his country,” said Governor Walker. “His courage is immeasurable and is something I will always admire. Our country is indebted to him for his decades of service. Please join Tonette and I as we pray for him and his family.”
