STALKING CHARGES SOUGHT AGAINST MILWAUKEE WOMAN

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office recently investigated threats made toward employees of the Waupun Correctional Institution and other people associated with the institution. Multiple victims received hundreds of communications in the form of calls, texts, and emails that were both threatening and harassing in nature. The threats caused disruptions to the operations of Waupun Correctional, and law enforcement was needed to increase its presence near victims’ homes. Monday Dodge County Sheriff’s detectives and Milwaukee Police executed a search warrant at the residence of 32-year-old Trina Brown of Milwaukee. Detectives located electronic communication devices that provided evidence of the alleged criminal activity. Brown made her initial appearance in Dodge County Court Wednesday. She is charged with two felony counts of stalking, three misdemeanor counts of unlawful phone use-threatening with obscenity, and one misdemeanor count of bail jumping. Bond was set at $1,000 cash and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12th. She’s being held in the Dodge County Jail. (Dodge County Jail photo).

FDL COUNTY ANNUAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPORT

The Fond du Lac County Health Department released its annual report for 2024 this week. County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it is something they are statutorily obligated to do, but it is also an excellent way to reflect on the great work that they’ve done over the past year. She says one of the big things that they accomplished was a community health needs assessment which identified mental health, substance use, and healthcare access as the top priorities. Mueller says this is the first time health care access has been one of those priorities. There was also a Pertussis outbreak last fall with 83 cases reported compared to just 4 in 2023. The Health Department also did a lot of community outreach with booths and displays at many community events. Between school-based, community clinics, and health department immunization clinics 1,648 doses of vaccine were administered to ward off the flu. Mueller says there is much more information available in the 33-page report. A link is available on the Health Department’s Facebook page.
