Volunteer Firefighter Drive Scam

Ripon Area Fire District Chief Tim Saul is warning residents not to fall for a letter, which appears to be a recruitment effort for volunteer firefighters, but then asks for donations. Saul says the funds are not going to the Ripon Fire District and if you did want to donate to the department contact them directly. The letter purports to be from an Alan Bohms Executive Director of the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance out of Topeka, Kansas. The Ripon Area Fire District is not part of this phony volunteer drive. Chief Saul thanks those residents who do support them.
