Details Released In Fatal Winnebago County Accident

Sheriff’s officials in Winnebago County have released more details about a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Highway 45 in the Town of Winneconne last Friday evening. 911 callers reported a yellow Ford Mustang convertible that was driving erratically before it crashed north of Highway 116. Fifty-eight-year-old Steven Brownell, who has residences in Larsen and Milwaukee, was driving. Theda Star helicopter flew him to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. His two kids,13-year-old son Kage Prince Brownell and 10-year-old daughter Kherington Brownell both of Lancaster Ohio, were in the car with him. Kherington died in the accident and Kage was seriously injured. Alcohol and excessive speed were factors in the crash. Sheriff’s officials say it was a horrendous event for all public safety personnel involved in the rescue effort.
