National Night Out Celebrations A Success

Green Lake County’s version of the National Night Out celebration was a success. It’s done on a rotating basis with a different community hosting the event each year. It was only in its second year when it was held at Hein Park in Markesan Tuesday night along with other similar celebrations across the country. Markesan Police Chief Will Pflum says it did bring a lot of people together representing law enforcement, fire and neighbors from a number of communities. He says they had close to about 1,000 people in attendance throughout the night and fed about 700 people. He says eveyone was having a good time and they got a lot of good feed back. Last year it was held in Berlin and next year it will be hosted by Green Lake. The Ripon Police Department also held a National Night Out celebration that evening at Barlow Park.
