Wautoma Woman Takes A Chance And Wins Iola Pin Up Contest

17 July 2018 News

A Wautoma woman won the Miss Iola 2018 Pin Up or Blue Ribbon Contest this past weekend. Twenty-eight-year-old Misty Haumschild (above) says she’s never done anything like that before, but decided to take a risk this year winning the contest at the Iola Car Show. She says, “I saw it last year and it just, it honestly looked like a ton of fun. And so I kind of made a New Year’s Resolution that I was going to do something that I have never done before and this just happened to be it.” None of the contestants went by their given names. Misty for example was Ruby Roundbottom. Caity My Lady finished second and Vanna Von Vanilla third. Misty says she did receive some nice prizes for winning including a professional photo shoot in Chicago, a painting will done of her and there were a number of goody baskets. Plus she gets to crown next year’s winner. Misty is a stay home Mom, mother to 6-year-old Josiah and 3-year-old Layla. One of the other things she does just for fun is participate in barrel-riding events with her horses. About 25 women from across the Midwest participated in the contest.

Top three contestants.
