Highway 23 Detours Starts In FDL County Today

9 July 2018 News

The detour for the Highway 23 project in Fond du Lac County that will be improve the stretch from Rosendale to Fond du Lac starts today. State Department of Transportation officials say their official detour is a combination of using State Highway 26 and I-41. That detour will be in place from today through the end of August. Mark Kantola of the DOT says quite a bit of work is planned for the $5 million project. He says, “We’re going to be resurfacing of the roadway, concrete pavement patches and repairs, we’re also going to be doing a bridge deck overlay. Because we’re doing some overlays and some culverts we’re going to have to detour the road from Becker Boulevard in Rosendale to Townline Road in Fond du Lac.” From August 31st to late October the detour will be removed and Highway 23 will remain open to traffic using lane closures and flagging as needed.
