1/30/25 New Ripon K9 Blek Sworn In

Wednesday was a special day for the Ripon Police Department’s newest K9 Blek. He was sworn in as the city’s newest officer. Community donations through the Rony’s Recruit fundraiser made his purchase and training possible. His handler is Officer Brandon Howell. Blek was also surprised on his first day to see pictures drawn and colored by Barlow Park Elementary School students welcoming him to Ripon. Blek replaces K9 Rony who retired last fall. Rony had been with the department since 2015. Blek was sworn in by City Administrator Adam Sonntag. (Ripon Police Department photos).
