Supreme Court Will Not Review Dassey Judgment

25 June 2018 News

The U.S. Supreme Court Monday denied Brendan Dassey’s request to review the judgment that upheld his conviction for the 2005 murder of free-lance photographer Teresa Halbach. The high court did not give a reason for its denial. Dassey is serving life in prison for the murder committed in Manitowoc County. Dassey and his uncle Steven Avery were both convicted of first degree intentional homicide in separate jury trials. Dassey was 16-years-old when Halbach was killed. His lawyers argued Dassey’s confession was coerced by investigators. They claimed the investigators used improper techniques while interrogating a juvenile with a low IQ.
