The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded Sunday evening to a report of a UTV that had gone through the ice on Sinissippi Lake in the Town of Hustisford. Preliminary investigation showed the UTV, a 2024 Polaris, was traveling north on the lake when it went through the ice. The Hustisford Fire Department worked in coordination with the Sheriff’s Office, and they were able to successfully pull both occupants from the water and back to shore. Both were uninjured. The passenger, a 46-year-old Hustisford man, was released from the scene. The driver, 45-year-old Adam Malterer, was arrested for operating a UTV/ATV while under the influence first offense. He was taken to Aurora Medical Center as a precaution and was released later. Assisting at the scene was the Hustisford Fire Department, Iron Ridge Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, and Hartford Paramedics.
