Fond du Lac, Wis. – Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Ignite Small Business & Startup Support Services hosted the 2nd annual Envision THIS! Pitch event on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Five entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas: Owen Miller, PocketPits; Ayden Fowler, Unbar; Marka Kopecky Penney, Empower Freedom; Ken Manninen, Card Poppers; and Noel Deibert, Noel’s Touch Esthetics. Each pitch consisted of a 4-minute business pitch, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session with judges.
Judges at the 2024 event included Tom Kulczewski, owner, Real Sportscards; Kathy Schlieve, City Administrator/Economic Development Director, City of Waupun; Sarah Sippel, owner, Stel & Shay Collective; and Jacob Erbs, credit analyst, WBD.
Ayden Fowler, Unbar, was announced as the first place winner. Unbar is a skin-cleansing soap crafted for mental wellness, sustainability, and community. Ken Manninen, Card Poppers, was awarded second place. Card Poppers is a sleek, customizable display system for showcasing sporting cards, fitting all graded cards and magnetic slabs. Both will advance to the regional NEW Launch Alliance pitch event at TitleTown Tech on December 4, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.
