As Lambeau Field lease negotiations remain stalled, the Green Bay Packers have asked the Green Bay Brown County Professional Football Stadium District to step in to the talks with the city of Green Bay.

The team on Wednesday released letters it sent both to Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich and to the stadium district board.

The Packers’ lease for Lambeau Field with Green Bay and the stadium district ends in 2032. There are options to extend it 10 additional years, but the Packers recently tried extending it by 30 years, until about 2063. The team says Genrich has not met with its officials since January. The team claims Genrich requested that any further discussions be preceded by a meeting with president/CEO Mark Murphy. The Packers say the two met in May, but Genrich canceled a follow-up meeting in September, and has not rescheduled.

The Packers are proposing to assume all maintenance costs going forward, in exchange for a flattening of rent payments.

The team claims Genrich is proposing to eliminate the stadium district entirely. The Packers also claim Genrich is trying to have the city take over on-field emergency health care of Packers and opposing players, and is opposing the team’s plan to replace obsolete railings within the stadium’s seating bowl.

The Detroit Lions may have delivered the fifth-worst defeat in Dallas Cowboys history on Sunday, but it came at a steep price. While the Lions have already made one addition to their team in Hutchinson’s absence, general manager Brad Holmes has made a significant move in retaining a key player already on the roster.

He played college football at NC State, where he put up an impressive stat line of 77 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception, and one touchdown, earning All-American honors in his junior season.

He became Detroit’s starting defensive tackle ahead of the 2023 season, though he missed a handful of games after suffering a knee injury in Week 13. So far in 2024, he’s amassed 2.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, and three tackles for loss.
