UPDATE:
Oshkosh Police have a 21-year-old Oshkosh man in custody suspected of hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle and leaving the scene early this morning. The suspect is being held in the Winnebago County Jail and police are no longer looking for a suspect or the striking vehicle. Just before 3 am officers were dispatched to the area of New York Avenue and Goss Court where they found a person that had been struck by a vehicle. Officers and paramedics administered lifesaving measures, but the pedestrian died at the scene. Oshkosh Police are asking anyone that lives in that area if they have security camera footage or information about the incident to call them at 920-236-5700. Oshkosh Police are looking for a driver that hit a pedestrian and left that person lying in the roadway fatally injured. Just before 3 am this morning officers were dispatched to the area of New York Avenue and Goss Court where they found a person that had been struck by a vehicle. The vehicle may have headed west over the Congress Avenue Bridge after that. Officers and paramedics administered lifesaving measures, but the pedestrian died at the scene. Oshkosh Police are asking anyone that lives in that area to check their security cameras for any activity between the hours of 12 and 3 am.
