Fond du Lac Police say shortly after midnight this morning a 39-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected in a shooting turned himself in. Saturday night shortly after 8 pm Police and Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue were sent to the area of 1st Street and Adams Street for reports of gunshots. About five minutes later officers found a 48-year-old Fond du Lac man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his left leg and left arm a few blocks away on South Portland Street. An officer applied tourniquets ti stop the blood loss. Police learned the suspect was seen running into the Parish School Apartments at 95 East 2nd Street. Officers set up a perimeter around the apartment complex. Residents in the area were advised to shelter in place. SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams were activated, armored vehicles deployed, K9 teams, drone and robot resources. Officers developed a person of interest. They obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s apartment. At 12:12 am this morning the suspect turned himself in without incident. He is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
