The Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant of detective says it may take a confession to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Bobby Joe Fritz. The five year old Campbellsport boy vanished in May of 1983 while playing outside his Campellsport home. The FBI has determined that bone fragments dug up from a yard nearly 30 years ago are from an animal. In 1990, authorities dug up the property of a prime suspect in Bobby Joe’s disappearance but the man was never charged in the boy’s abduction. Fond du Lac County sheriff’s lieutenant, Cameron McGee, says he’s not sure if the case will ever be solved. McGee says the Fond du Lac County Child Abduction Response Team was formed recently and may have had an impact if it had been in place when Fritz disappeared.

Police say an Appleton resident arrived home this past weekend to find a naked burglar sleeping in the victim’s bed. Responding officers say they found the man hiding in a shower enclosure at the home Saturday night. Police say the burglar broke a door to gain entry, drank some whiskey and ate some muffins. Authorities say a bag of marijuana was found near the suspect’s clothing. The victim did not know the suspect, who was booked into the Outagamie County Jail.

A Wisconsin company takes drone photos of agriculture land to help farmers improve their crops as part of a new wave of technology-based jobs in the agriculture sector. Joe Paul started the New Lisbon-based firm FlightSight to combine his passions for aviation and farming. Paul says drones “give producers a whole new view of their operation.” State officials hope it will increase young people’s interest in farming. The number of farms in the state and the nation has been decreasing for decades. State figures say there were 68,900 farms in the state in 2015, 100 less than the year before and 7,600 less than in 2005. But the industry has an economic impact of more than $88 million in the state.

Gov. Scott Walker signs nearly a dozen bills designed to combat opioid addiction at stops around the state. The governor signed four bills in De Pere, four more bills in Onalaska and three bills in Schofield on Monday. Walker called a special legislative session in January to pass the bills, calling opioid addiction a public health crisis in Wisconsin. The Legislature still took more than five months to pass all the measures. The bills include measures that ensure someone who overdoses would be immune from probation or parole revocation if he or she enters a treatment program, allow school nurses to administer overdose antidotes and allow emergency and involuntary commitment for drug addicts.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued four people from a capsized boat on Lake Michigan during the annual Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac Island, Michigan. The Coast Guard says the four were clinging to the vessel’s hull and only two were wearing life jackets when rescued Sunday off the lakeshore community of Fox Point north of Milwaukee. The Coast Guard says the four are in good condition. Another person was rescued by a citizen after falling overboard in a separate incident Sunday. The 333-mile (540-kilometer) yacht race starts off Chicago. The first 40 boats finished Sunday and Monday. Winners are determined based on a handicapping system. Organizers say about 80 of the nearly 300 boats in the race withdrew — many due to rough weather.
