18 September 2024 News

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a 35-year-old Ripon man was seriously injured when his motorcycle was struck from behind by a vehicle on State Highway 23 west of Rosendale Tuesday night. A 911 call reported the accident in the Town of Rosendale at 9:16 pm. Through investigation and witness statements it was learned the motorcycle was heading west when it was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Malone woman. The Ripon man was thrown from his bike. He was not wearing a helmet. He could not feel his legs and the woman complained of neck and back pain. A ThedaStar helicopter flew the man to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. An ambulance took the woman to Ripon Community Hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident and the woman was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. State Highway 23 between County Highway M and Center Road was shut down for about 2 hours. In addition to Sheriff’s deputies and ThedaStar, Ripon Police, the State Patrol, Rosendale Fire Department and First Responders, and Ripon Ambulance responded to the scene.
