Fond du Lac Police say a 42-year-old Fond du Lac man walked into the street Friday night and was struck by a vehicle. Fond du Lac Police and Fire and Rescue were dispatched to West Division Street between Main Street and Macy Street at 9:01 pm. The man was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Fond du Lac resident. The victim was taken to St. Agnes Hospital and later transferred to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah for life threatening injuries. The driver that struck him was arrested for operating while impaired causing great bodily harm, which is a felony. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted Fond du Lac Police by conducting an accident reconstruction at the scene.
