8/24/24 Slow Going on Interstate 41 Leads to Drug Bust

24 August 2024 News

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a traffic stop on Interstate 41 for someone driving on a suspended driver’s license and well below the speed limit turned into a significant drug bust. During the stop approximately 230 grams of methamphetamine and 30 grams of fentanyl were seized.  As a result, the 39-year-old Phillips man driving the vehicle and a passenger, a 30-year-old Appleton man, are both charged with methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking. Both men face enhanced charges because of previous criminal charges and were on probation. The driver’s probation was revoked, and he is now in prison. The passenger is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 cash for both men on the new charges. (Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s photo).
