8/14/24 Update on Missing Kayaker

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office this morning gave an update on the search for a missing kayaker on Green Lake. An extensive search on the water for the 44-year-old man was suspended Tuesday afternoon around 4 pm. The DNR, Bruce’s Legacy and Recovery, and Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office boats searched with sonar and underwater drones in the suspected area. The Green Lake County Drone unit searched from the air and will continue to search from the air until the individual is found. The deepest water of Green Lake will be searched when the appropriate resources are available. Family reported the man missing Monday morning when he did not return home from Green Lake Sunday night. Green Lake County deputies responded and located an overturned, unoccupied kayak with a life jacket attached. The man was last seen at the west end of Big Green Lake near Dodge Memorial Park. His vehicle was found near the park.
