11 August 2024 News
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a rollover crash that seriously injured a 21-year-old New Holstein man in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Marshfield early Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s Communications Center got a phone call at 2:40 am reporting the accident on County Highway G near Chestnut Road. Investigators say the passenger car was heading north on County Highway G near Chestnut Road when it left the roadway after a curve. It struck a driveway embankment and cement culvert. That caused the car to roll down a steep embankment. The New Holstein man, the lone occupant, was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with potentially serious injuries. The man was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. In addition to Sheriff’s deputies, St. Cloud Fire, St. Cloud First Responders, Mount Calvary Ambulance, City of Fond du Lac Ambulance, and ThedaStar Helicopter responded.
