8/3/24 Barn Fire in the Town of Eldorado

3 August 2024 News

Fire destroyed one barn and damaged another at W7950 West Lone Elm Road in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Eldorado early this morning. Sheriff’s deputies and fire departments from Eldorado and Van Dyne were dispatched to the scene after a 911 call at 1:04 am reported a barn on fire containing hay. When they arrived one barn was on fire and feed in two adjoining silos. An 80 by 100-foot barn was destroyed and a nearby 20 by 40-foot barn damaged. Siding on adjacent home was also damaged. No cattle perished in the fire, and no one was injured. A total of 14 fire departments fought the blaze. The cause of the fire may be related to a conveyor belt that was in the barn. The fire is not considered suspicious.
