A 75-year-old Fond du Lac man was sentenced in Fond du Lac County court Monday to 7 days in jail, a $500 fine and court costs for one count of terrorist threats which is a felony. The conviction stemmed from two emails James Stearns sent on May 25th and May 27th of 2022, to a radio talk show host and a member of the Wisconsin Legislature in the days after the Uvalde School shooting. In the email to the radio host which Stearns wanted shared, he threatened to buy a gun the most powerful he could purchase to murder any legislator that voted in favor of a bill that would allow teachers or administrators to be armed with a firearm.
