Ripon, WI- An adventure-themed summer continues with the Ripon Public Library’s something-for-everyone summer lineup! Thanks to the Friends of the Library and other generous partners, programming is always free, and registration is not required unless noted.

MONDAY, JULY 15 at 12 PM | ARMCHAIR TRAVEL Explore the world from the comfort of the library or your own home with “Armchair Travel,” a six-week series occurring most Mondays at 12 PM in which locals share their travel adventures! Join in person or via Zoom. This week Julia Manor will present pictures and stories about her travels to Jamaica. Bring your own snack or lunch if you wish. Cookies & beverages served. Mark your calendars for the next adventure, July 22, to Patagonia with Karl Stewart. Series suited to ages 10 years and up. A Zoom link is available on the library website and Facebook page.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17 | SPINNING TOP TAKE & MAKE: Drop in to pick up a kit while supplies last. Create an ingenious spinner from an old CD, a bottle cap, and a marble. Bling it up for maximum fun, then show off your completed project at the Mark Hayward show on Friday, July 19 at 1:30 PM!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17 at 6-8 PM | GAME NIGHT for ages 16 +

Calling all strategists, team players, and those who like to test their luck—enjoy an evening of tabletop board games! Staff will be on hand to teach and guide players through a variety of entertaining and easy-to-learn games with no experience necessary.  Can’t make it? This recurring adult event (ages 16+) will be held in the Silver Creek Room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

THURSDAY, JULY 18 at 10 AM | FAMILY FUN! It’s a morning to dance, sing, and play! Children’s musician Micah Sommersmith keeps kids entertained and curious with interactive music, zany stories, lyrics, and silly fun for the whole family.

FRIDAY, JULY 19 at 1:30 PM | MARK HAYWARD, YO-YO ENTERTAINER: COMEDY, TRICKS, AND YO-YOS!

Mark Hayward has been a variety arts performer since 1990. He is a World Yo-yo Champion, a member of a World Champion Juggling Team, and a Spin Top Champion. Mark has traveled the world with a yo-yo on his finger (well, mostly in his pocket), and has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman (twice), The Late Late Show with James Corden, America’s Got Talent, and the NBC Nightly News (without committing a crime). Someday Mark hopes to perform for both the President and the King.

SATURDAY, JULY 20, DROP-IN EVENT 9AM – 1 PM | FAMILY GAME DAY

Join us for family-friendly tabletop gaming! Enjoy a variety of modern board games for all ages with the guided help of library staff and volunteers. Don’t miss the fun plus snacks and prizes too!
