6/27/24 SWAT Incident in Waupun

Waupun Police requested assistance from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s and Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT teams to bring a domestic disturbance suspect in early this morning. The disturbance at a residence on East Franklin Street was reported just before midnight, but the suspect left the residence only to return to it later. Police were able to make contact with the suspect, a 31-year-old Waupun man, who refused to exit the residence. The SWAT teams were brought in and during negotiations two residents were able to leave the home safely. The man eventually exited the home and was taken into custody just before 5:30 this morning. Charges being referred against him include false imprisonment, battery, strangulation and suffocation, disorderly conduct, resisting or obstructing an officer, and three felony counts of bail jumping. After being released from a medical facility he was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
