After a day off the Brewers are back in action tonight, opening a weekend series at Houston against the Astros. Freddy Peralta (3-1, 3.63 ERA) is on the mound for Milwaukee. First pitch is at 7:10.
In the NL Central Thursday the Pirates nipped the Cubs 5-4 at Wrigley Field and the Reds beat the Dodgers in Los Angeles 7-2. The Brewers lead the Cubs by 2 games in the division.
In the Midwest League Thursday the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had their 4-game winning streak snapped as Beloit shutout the T-Rats 6-0 at Fox Cities Stadium. It was the first shutout loss of the season for the Timber Rattlers, who dropped to 23-13 on the season while the Sky Carp improved to 18-17.

A week after a second place finish to Rory Mcllroy at the Wells Fargo Championship, Xander Schauffele has a 3-shot after the first round of the PGA Championship. Schauffele shot a 9-under par 64 Thursday to lead Sahith Theegala, Tony Finau and Mark Hubbard by 3 strokes.
A thirty minute rain delay wouldn’t put a damper on the Titans NCAA Regional opener against Saint Benedict on Thursday, 41. Abby Garceau started the scoring with a base hit to drive in a pair in the first, and followed with a double in the third to make it a three RBI day for the Mishicot grad.
Pitcher Sydney Nemetz allowed just one run on five hits and finished with five strikeouts in the victory.
The Titans will face Illinois Wesleyan in their second game of the regional on Friday at 11 a.m.
On Thursday, an anonymous source told the Oshkosh Northwestern that the G-League affiliate for the Milwaukee Bucks is now considering opt-out provisions in its lease with the Oshkosh Arena, which has been their home since the team’s very beginning in 2017.
The current lease for the Herd would keep the team in town through 2026, with the option to extend through 2028. However, according to the source who spoke to the Oshkosh Northwestern, the Herd no longer wants to work with the arena’s owner, Fox Valley Pro Basketball.
“We certainly want to keep the Herd here in Oshkosh,” said Oshkosh city manager Mark Rohloff. “They started here, and we want them to stay for a long time. We know they have a lease and we hope they keep that lease for the long term.”
The source is also claiming the arena is in violation of its current lease.
They’ve had success developing a committed fan base, according to the President and CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber.
“They’re a big impact to the area,” said Rob Kleiman. “They’re a big tenant. You know, they’re a draw to the area, the area is developing, the area has been developing, and will continue to develop but they’re a big part of that of that, and they’re a big draw.”
