4/10/24 Variety of Fine Arts Offerings at Ripon College

RIPON — A jam-packed month of fine arts offerings is scheduled at Ripon College. All events are free and open to the public in C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts on the campus.

  • Wednesday through Saturday, April 10-13: “The Spitfire Grill,” a musical theatre production, 7:30 p.m. each day, Benstead Theatre. Although walk-up seats are sometimes available, free tickets may be reserved by calling the box office at 920-748-8791 or sending an email to Boxoffice@Ripon.edu.
  • Saturday, April 20: Senior violin and guitar recital with Isaac Thomaschefsky ’24 of Green Bay, Wisconsin, noon in Demmer Recital Hall.
  • Tuesday, April 23: Ripon College High School Band Festival, all day, with a final concert presented at 4:30 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall.
  • Thursday, April 25: Choirs and Orchestra concert, featuring Faure’s “Requiem Mass,” 7 p.m., Demmer Recital Hall
  • Friday, April 26: Rodman Arts Celebration
  • Reading by Wisconsin’s Own Library poet-in-residence Sonya Lara,  6 p.m., Caestecker Gallery
  • Senior Art Show opening reception, 6:30 p.m., Caestecker Gallery.
  • One-act play, “Ties that Bind and Break,” written and directed by Pierce Reese-Grimm ’24 of Wautoma, Wisconsin, 7 p.m. Benstead Theatre.
  • Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo concert, featuring guest saxophonist Tom Washatka, 7:30 p.m., Demmer Recital Hall.
  • Saturday, April 27: Senior flute recital with Ben Cabala ’24 of Madison, Wisconsin, 4 p.m., Demmer Recital Hall.

  • Sunday, April 28: Chamber Winds and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, with appearances by adjunct instructors of music Ann Stephan, violin, and Debra MacKenzie, piano, 3:15 p.m., Demmer Recital Hall.

  • Tuesday, April 30: Music recital by student performers nominated by applied faculty, 4:15 p.m., Demmer Recital Hall.

  • Wednesday, May 1: Annual Lawn Concert featuring Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Rally Band, 6 p.m., Memorial Lawn/Great Hall steps. Ben Cabala ’24 of Madison, Wisconsin, will be a student guest conductor for the Symphonic Wind Ensemble.

A picnic dinner and beer/wine will be available for purchase through Sage Dining Services. Seating will be on the lawn. Guests can bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be presented in Demmer Recital Hall.
