1 March 2024 News

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 22-year-old Green Bay man early this morning who led deputies on a nearly 13-mile pursuit. It began when a deputy tried to pull the man over for a speeding violation on Interstate 41 northbound at Highway 151 in the town of Fond du Lac. The man sped up when the deputy activated lights and sirens on his squad car. A tire deflation device was deployed but the man avoided it. When the suspect’s vehicle exited I-41 at County Highway N he went through a stop sign at the bottom of the ramp and struck the raised median on County Highway N disabling the vehicle. The driver then fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase. No one was in the vehicle with him during the pursuit.  Deputies located illegal drugs in the vehicle. He’s facing fleeing an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance charges and was cited for several traffic violations. He was also placed on a probation hold. He was on probation for a previous fleeing an officer incident. Tires on a Sheriff’s squad car and semi-truck were affected by the tire deflation device.
