Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its March lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library and other generous donors, programming is always free, and registration is not required unless noted.

WEDS FEB 28-MAR 27 | 10 AM | STORYTIME FOR KIDS & FAMILIES

Welcome to active learning & fun, where early literacy & STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, and enrichment activities. It’s a happy place for kids and caregivers to learn and play. After Storytime, Stay-and-Play in the Romper Room! This active space allows kids to release excess energy and advance their physical skills all while supporting social connections for kids and their adults.

SUN MAR 10 | 1-4 PM | D&D and MORE | AGES 11+

Join us for an afternoon of Dungeons and Dragons and other role-playing games in which you immerse yourself in a world and character, problem-solve and collaborate with others! Beginners welcome. Recurs 2nd SUN each month.

MON MAR 11 | 2 PM | MONDAY MOVIE MATINEE

Enjoy a newly released movie on the big screen with complimentary popcorn! Visit the library website for title and rating information.

MON MAR 11 | 6-7:30 PM | ALL NATURAL SERIES | ADULTS |The Benefits of Diverse Ecosystems

Ripon College Professor Emeritus Skip Wittler will present a program on the benefits of diverse ecosystems to humans.  The presentation will allow for a Q&A session afterwards. All are welcome!

WED MAR 13 | 6-8 PM | ADULT GAME NIGHT | AGES 16+

Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of every month for an evening of modern board games. We teach, you play! Check our website/Facebook for featured game(s). Recurring event, 3rd Wednesday of each month.

SUN MAR 17 | 4:00-5:30PM | TEEN PROGRAM | NERF BATTLE | AGES 11-17

How good is your aim? Show off your talent at the Nerf Battle @ Your Library!! Nerf blasters and darts provided.  See website for details & registration.

MON MAR 18 | 10 AM |PG-RATED POP-UP MOVIE | ALL AGES

Enjoy this much-anticipated, animated musical fantasy which takes place in the magical kingdom of Rosas. The film title can be found on the library website. Popcorn will be served!

THU MAR 21 | 6-7:30 PM | CRAFT CLUB: CARD MAKING 101 | AGES 10+

Create handmade greeting cards and learn the basics of how to put together a beautiful but simple card.  All supplies will be provided.  For ages 10 and up. Youth need adult supervision.

SAT MAR 23 | 10AM – NOON |DISCOVERY ZONE FOR KIDS & CAREGIVERS

Welcome to a morning of discovery in the Silver Creek Room! Delve into a host of activities designed to foster exploration, engagement, learning and fun. Content is geared toward ages 4-8 years, but enjoyable for older and younger. Bring the whole family to enjoy:

  • Yoga
  • Free play with DUPLO & LEGO
  • Romper Room
  • Games, games, games
  • STEAM Kits
  • Puzzles
  • Reading recommendations

Repeat Discovery Zone days, Saturday April 27 and May 18, will offer fresh twists!

MON MAR 25 | 6:30-7:30 PM | BOOK CLUB | ADULTS | The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann Enjoy a lively and friendly discussion with other readers. 

THU MAR 28 | 6-8 PM| GAME NIGHT @ RIPON COLLEGE | AGES 16+

Join us for a bonus night of adult gaming at Ripon College’s Lane Library (North Reading Room)! In conjunction with Ripon College, RC students and community members are welcome to attend this evening of modern board games.

DROP-IN BOREDOM BUSTERS

  • Come play in the Romper Room. Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room, which is open during regular library hours, is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though younger/older kids are welcome.
  • Enjoy the always-available board games, toy library, and activity sheets located in the youth department.
  • Visit the community table where there is always a puzzle in progress! Stay for a bit and place a few pieces or settle in for a longer session.
