ROSENDALE HOUSE FIRE

Four people were displaced by a house fire at 211 South Main Street in Rosendale Tuesday evening. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies and the Rosendale Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 6:11 pm. Smoke was coming from the walls and outlets of the home when deputies and fire personnel arrived. The first floor was filled with smoke. The fire was inside of the house’s walls and ceiling. Fire extinguishers were used to try and control the fire until the fire department arrived to put out the blaze. The majority of the house was saved with medium interior damage. An official cause is being determined but the home owners had a new furnace installed earlier in the day.

WAUPUN HOUSE FIRE

Waupun firefighters responded to a house fire at 701 Brandon Street at 8:32 Tuesday morning. Smoke was coming from roof vents and second floor windows when they arrived. After confirming everyone was out, crews located the fire and began putting it out. There was significant fire damage to the second floor of the home and smoke and water damage throughout. The Red Cross is assisting the one person displaced by the fire. No one was injured. Investigators believe the fire started on the second floor in the area of a chimney where a wood stove was being used. The property is owned by Tom Sauer.
