A 53-year-old Newton, Wisconsin man was killed and a 62-year-old Menasha man was injured when a pickup truck collided with a semi-tractor trailer on Kiel Road near Schoenborn Road in Fond du Lac County Friday morning. The crash in the Town of Calumet was reported to the County’s Communication’s Center shortly before 10 am. The initial investigation found the pickup truck was heading west and crossed the centerline striking the eastbound semi. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch. The Newton man, who was driving the pickup, died at the scene. The Menasha man, who was driving the semi, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. In addition to Sheriff’s deputies, the State Patrol, Calumet Fire Department, Calumet First Responders and Mt. Calvery Ambulance responded to the scene.
