1/20/24 Markesan Theft Suspects Identified

Two people of interest have been identified in a couple of retail thefts that occurred Thursday afternoon in Markesan. The man and woman are suspected in thefts that happened at the city’s Piggly Wiggly and Citgo. Police sent out information through the State Justice Department’s Crime Alert Network Friday including photos of the suspects and an extended-cab pickup truck they were believed to be driving. The suspects entered the businesses and stole a significant amount of liquor. That was accomplished with one of the suspects distracting the clerk and the other removing the liquor from packaging, placing it in a bag and leaving the store.
