Giannis Antetokounmpo had 35 points and 10 assists, Damian Lillard added 28 points, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the New York Knicks 146-122 on Tuesday night to reach the semifinals of the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament.

The Bucks posted a season high in scoring, shooting 60.5% (23 of 38) from 3-point range and 60.4% overall to set up a matchup with Indiana in Las Vegas on Thursday.

Milwaukee is 5-0 in tournament play and extended its home winning streak to nine games. The Bucks (15-6) have won 10 of 12 overall.

Julius Randle scored a season-high 41 points for the Knicks, whose three-game winning streak was snapped. Jalen Brunson added 24 points and R.J. Barrett scored 23 for New York, which earned a wild-card berth in the knockout round through a point-differential tiebreaker.

Antetokounmpo had an injury scare less than two minutes into the game. After tipping in a missed shot, he landed on Randle’s foot and rolled his left ankle. Antetokounmpo fell to the floor in pain. He eventually limped up the court but stayed in the game and tallied 10 of the Bucks’ first 13 points.

After a tightly contested first half, the Bucks pulled ahead by as many as 18 points in the third quarter. Milwaukee led by as many as 27 in the fourth and coach Adrian Griffin emptied his bench, giving rare playing time to Antetokounmpo’s brother, Thanasis, and Robin Lopez, the twin brother of starting center Brook Lopez.

Lillard swished three step-back 3-pointers in the waning stages of the second quarter to give the Bucks at 75-72 lead at halftime. It was the highest-scoring first half this season for Milwaukee.

The Knicks had gone 10-3 since losing to the Bucks in Milwaukee on Nov. 3 in the opener of tournament group play.

Next up, the Buck will seek to avenge a 126-124 loss to the host Pacers in the teams’ only meeting this season on Friday.  Tipoff is at 4:00. The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Windy City Bulls 123-96. Drew Timme led the Herd with a double-double of a career-high 30 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 11 for 12 in field goals. Wenyen Gabriel followed with 18 points. The Windy City Bulls were led by Dalen Terry with 22 points while Adama Sanogo added 20 points.

The Herd will rematch the Windy City Bulls on Saturday, December 9 with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m. CST.

Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell is the Man of the Year in the hearts of the Green Bay Packers organization.

Tuesday, the Packers announced they nominated Campbell for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, who will be named in February before the Super Bowl.

The award goes to NFL players for not only excelling on the field but also making a lasting, positive impact in their communities. The Packers highlighted his foundation for families in need, his holiday Adopt A Family program, and volunteer efforts to feed the hungry.

“He does so much work with his foundation, the De’Vondre Campbell Family Youth Foundation,” Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy said, “to help families in need through football camps, donations, and their Adopt A Family program. We are proud to highlight his dedication to the community and his excellence both on and off the field.”

Campbell’s family youth foundation, started in 2019, organizes events for at-risk youth and families, including a football camp in his hometown in Florida. The foundation also provided $10,000 to give Green Bay elementary school teachers classroom supplies, writing utensils and paper, plus 200 backpacks and supply kits for students and families.

Last year’s Adopt a Family program donated $50,000 in gifts to 25 families in need in Green Bay and Minnesota, including toys, new appliances, and a car. Campbell’s foundation also gifted a wedding to one of the families. It hopes to help 35 families this year.

Campbell and his wife, Nicole, volunteer at Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay and help pack holiday food boxes for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

Additionally, fans can vote for their choice through January 8 on the NFL websiteor on X (formerly Twitter) by posting hashtag #WPMOYChallenge with the name or X handle of their preferred nominee. Nationwide will make a $35,000 donation to a charity chosen by the nominee who gets the most votes and hashtag mentions, a $10,000 donation to the charity of the runner-up, and a $5,000 donation to the charity of the third-place finisher.

Campbell will wear a special helmet decal for the rest of the season recognizing him as one of the league’s 32 nominees.

Gov. Tony Evers used American Family Field as his backdrop to sign two bills to keep the Milwaukee Brewers in Wisconsin through 2050, spending half-a-billion dollars in taxpayer money over the next three decades to help the Brewers repair their baseball stadium.

Through the bills, which passed with bipartisan support, the State will provide $365.8 million to a fund specifically created for stadium renovations. Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee will contribute another $67.5 million.

But one of the bills sets requirements to be met for the state funding, including a lease agreement on the stadium through at least December 31, 2050, and a non-relocation agreement requiring the Brewers to play home games only at American Family Field.

The Brewers will be required to contribute millions of dollars toward stadium renovations and maintenance, starting with $50 million for stadium renovations and maintenance, at least half of which needs to be paid by January 1, 2037.

The team also need to make additional, annual payments of $3,360,253 from 2024 through 2045, increasing to $5,360,253 from 2046 through 2050, to cover some of the Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District’s costs and renovations of the ballpark.

ballpark.

The Brewers say the 22-year-old stadium needs extensive renovation. The outfield doors, seats and concourses need replacing, the luxury suites and video scoreboard need upgrades, and the stadium’s signature retractable roof, fire suppression systems, parking lots, elevators and escalators need work, according to the team.

Brewers officials warned lawmakers the team might leave Milwaukee without public assistance.

To help cover some of the costs, a surcharge will be added to tickets for non-baseball events at American Family Field, such as concerts.

In men’s  college basketball Tuesday night #23  Wisconsin won at Michigan State 70-57.  A.J. Storr led the Badgers with 22 points while Steven Crowl scored 18. Tyson Walker scored 22 points to pace the Spartans.
