18 September 2018 News

Investigators say a crash involving two boats on Lake Winnebago that led to the death of two Neenah sisters involved drinking. The two boats slammed into each other. Twenty-six-year-old Lauren and 20-year-old Cassie Laabs were ejected from their boat. Neither was wearing a life jacket. Divers found their bodies. Two others in the other boat suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. Two others were treated on shore. According to the report both boat operators “had been drinking.” A “navigation rules violation” was also cited as a contributing factor.
