11/1/23 Fatal Accident in Winnebago County

One driver was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle accident at State Highway 21 and East Scott Street in the Town of Omro this morning. At 7:47 am Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies, Omro Rushford Fire Department, Oshkosh Fire Department, and the State Patrol responded to the accident scene. First responders discovered an unconscious driver in one of the vehicles. Life-saving measures were performed; however, the driver succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No names were released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
