NL Divisional Series

Phillies 3, Braves 1-Philadelphia wins the series 3-1. Nick Castellanos, who signed a five-year, $100 million contract before the 2022 season, hit two home runs in Thursday’s clinching win,  one day after doing the same in Game 3.  He’s the first player in postseason history with back-to-back multihomer games.  Arizona plays at Philadelphia Monday in game 1 of the NL Championship Series.

In the AL Championship Series on Sunday, Texas hosts Houston in game one.

In Thursday Night Football the Chiefs won at home over the Broncos 19-8.  Kansas City improves to 4-1 overall while Denver drops to 1-4.

Patrick Mahomes  ended with a nice-looking stat line (30-of-40 passing, 306 yards, touchdown) and 31 rushing yards. But he also threw a bad interception in the red zone, costing the team three points. The first half was the Travis Kelce  and Isiah Pacheco Show, but the red-zone execution and some curious decisions — more on that later — led to their second sub-20-point outing this season. Kelce held up after Sunday’s ankle injury (although he did leave briefly with about five minutes left) and ended up with nine catches for 140 yards, but he did the bulk of that in the first half. The Chiefs volumed their way to a 389-yard game, but it’s clear they’re still stuck in second gear.

The Seahawks Russell Wilson threw for just 95 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.  He was also sacked 4 times.

The Green Bay Packers will host the 21st annual Halloween “Spooktacular” this Saturday, Oct 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The free event will be held in the Lambeau Field Atrium and feature interactive stage entertainment, balloon animals, and EdgeVR virtual reality. There will also be face painting, fall-themed games, cookie decorating, and Halloween craft stations.

The Center for Childhood Safety will also be in attendance, providing families with information on safe trick-or-treating.

The “Spooktacular” is one of many community events the Packers host as part of “Green Bay Packers Give Back”, a community outreach initiative that contributes to the Packers immense charitable impact every year.

The stage performers for the Spooktacular can be found on the Green Bay Packers website.
