8/27/23 Summertime Fun at Town Square Tap

27 August 2023 News

GREEN LAKE, WI, — A local favorite band, Summertime, will kick off Labor Day weekend with a performance at Town Square Tap that will also serve as a fundraiser for Town Square Community Center.

Summertime, composed of four Green Lake area musicians, will take the stage on Friday, Sept. 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., performing a wide selection of songs made famous from the late 50s to recent times, including classic rock, pop, blues, and ballads played in an acoustic style.

“Summertime already donates their time to play at Town Square each year, and now they’ve decided to turn their performance into a fundraiser,” said Executive Director Kris Anderson. “We are touched by their generosity and support for our community.”

The funds raised will support a recently launched initiative to update the community center’s entrance off of the Mill Pond Terrace..

“Accessibility is extremely important, and our back door is also our handicap entrance,” said Anderson. “The project is estimated to cost over $45,000.”

Anderson noted that Town Square is on its way to its goal thanks to donors at the White Hot Party on July 15. Attendees at the Aug. 11 concert can help reach the goal.

“Summertime takes you on a melodic musical journey through songs that you remember and love,” said Anderson. “Come out, sing along to the music, have a drink, enjoy the spectacular view, and know you are supporting a great community cause.”

The venue, Town Square Tap, is located in the rear of the community center on the Mill Pond Terrace.. The Tap features craft beer, cocktails, and wine with an indoor/outdoor space overlooking Green Lake’s Mill Pond.

Live music will continue throughout the holiday weekend with country singer and songwriter Hannah Rose on Sunday, Sept. 3 from 7-9 p.m.
