5/15/23 Deputy Leising Funeral Draws Law Enforcement from Across the State and Midwest

Funeral services were held Friday for St. Croix County Sheriff’s Deputy Kaitie Leising who died in the line of duty on May 6th. The 29-year-old deputy was shot by a potentially impaired driver. She died later at a hospital. The shooter ended up killing himself. Law enforcement officials from across the state and Midwest attended the funeral at the high school in Hudson. Among those attending were Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies, Fond du Lac Police, Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies and hundreds of others. The funeral came just days before the start of National Police Week, which started Sunday and sees a number of memorial services in honor of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
