4/16/23 Single Vehicle Crash in FDL County

Two teens suffered minor injuries in a single vehicle accident on US Highway 45 near Mitchell Road in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Osceola just before 9 o’clock Saturday night. Sheriff’s officials say they got a 911 call about a vehicle upside down on its roof on fire in a ditch. A passerby and a deputy used their fire extinguishers to knock down the fire and the deputy and a couple of people helped get the two occupants out of the vehicle. The occupants were a 16-year-old Campbellsport girl and a 17-year-old Eden girl. Both were taken to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Investigators say the driver was heading south on US Highway 45 and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went into a ditch where it struck a driveway culvert and overturned. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt during the crash. Speed and impairment appear to be factors in the accident.
