Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its April lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, programming is always free. Registration is not required unless noted.
APRIL EARTH DAY SEED BOMBS | BEGINNING APR 3 | All Ages Take and Make
Beautify and diversify your little corner of the world with this “bomb” made from paper, water, and native annual flower seeds. Beginning April 3, all ages may pick up a kit while supplies last. Aside from water, all supplies are included.
STORYTIME! SPRING THINGS | WEDNESDAYS APR 12-26 @ 10 AM | Kids & Caregiver
Welcome to active learning and fun, where early literacy and STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, and enrichment activities. It’s a happy place for kids and caregivers to learn and play. This 5-week session focuses on celebrating spring’s many delights. Ideas for keeping kids happy and active, even when spring is fickle and turns wet or cold, are included. Stay and Play in the Romper Room after Storytime. This active space allows kids to release their excess energy and advance their physical skills all while supporting social connections for adults and children.
TEEN POLICE CAMP | SAT APR 1 @ 10 AM-NOON | Ages 13-18
Teens-did you ever wonder what to expect if you get pulled over by a police officer when driving? What if a police officer stops you on the sidewalk? What should you do? What should you say? What are your rights? Officers Trevor Hanke and Lindsey Michels will be here to demonstrate dos and don’ts and answer your questions. Join us on Saturday, April 1 from 10:00-12:00 in the Silver Creek Room. Registration required.
ADULT GAME NIGHT | WED APR 19 @ 6:00 PM
April 19 features the groundbreaking game, Dominion, the first ever in the deck-building-game genre! Join us to learn the ins and outs of playing Dominion and other deck building games. One lucky attendee will win their own free copy of the game, Dominion! Must be present to win this valuable prize.
Can’t make it? This recurring adult event (ages 16+) will be held in the Silver Creek Room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
PINTEREST CRAFT CLUB: PRESSED FLOWER TEA LIGHT GOBLETS | THU APR 27 @ 6-7:30 PM | Ages 16+
April’s Pinterest craft features the beauty of pressed flowers permanently Mod-podged to the outside of a clear glass goblet. From inside the goblet a tealight illuminates this lovely piece just in time for spring decorating! Join us for this fresh and delightful crafting experience on Thursday, April 27th at 6:00 pm. Registration required.
Ongoing Programs
ROMPER ROOM
Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike and trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome, though reserving a specific play time with family and friends assures availability.
MONDAY MOVIES | 10 AM & 2 PM
Every Monday at 10 am and 2 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. Popcorn is served. For movie title and rating call the library or check the website.
MONTHLY BOOK DISCUSSION |MON APR 24 @ 6:30 PM | Adults
Join the Friends of the Library book discussion of Afterlife by Julia Alvarez, on Monday April 24th at 6:30 PM! Copies of the book are available to check out at the library, about two weeks in advance, while supplies last.
