Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its March lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, programming is always free. Registration is not required unless noted.

SOCK BUNNY | BEGINNING MAR 3 | All Ages Take and Make

Drop in to pick up a Sock Bunny craft kit, for all ages, while supplies last. Makers will need to supply their own black marker and scissors. All other supplies are included.

STORYTIME! | TUESDAYS MAR 7-21 @ 10 AM | Kids & Caregiver

Welcome to active learning and fun, where early literacy and STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, and enrichment activities. It’s a happy place for kids and caregivers to learn and play. Winter Storytimes focus on dynamic indoor activities to keep kids happy and active. Stay and Play in the Romper Room after Storytime. This active space allows kids to release their excess energy and advance their physical skills all while supporting social connections for adults and children.

SUPER SATURDAY DROP-IN CRAFT | MAR 11 @ 10AM-NOON | Kids & Young at Heart

Drop in 10am to noon on Saturday, March 11 to create a St. Patrick’s Day windsock. Delightfully simple yet elegant this craft will have everyone feeling Irish and loving it! Enjoy its “green” features with nods to the Emerald Isle of Ireland and conservation by reusing paper product tubes.

TEEN DIY BRACELETS | SAT MAR 18 @ 10 AM-NOON | Ages 12-18

Calling all TEENs!  Do you like DIY?  Do you like to make unique projects?  Then this is the program for you!  We will be making bracelets and necklaces or whatever type of jewelry you like from pop top tabs, washers, and other types of hardware.  Join us for a time of fun and crafting! Meet in the Silver Creek Room.

ADULT GAME NIGHT | WED MAR 22 @ 6:00 PM

Calling all strategists, team players, and those who like to test their luck—enjoy an evening of tabletop board games! Staff will be on hand to teach and guide players through a variety of entertaining and easy to learn games with no experience necessary.

March 22 features dice games. Get your roll on with lighter fare like Farkle and Zombie Dice or try out Sagrada for an added puzzly challenge!

Can’t make it? This recurring adult event (ages 16+) will be held in the Silver Creek Room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. PLEASE NOTE: March’s event is one week later than usual due to staff availability.

PINTEREST CRAFT CLUB: PAPER BAG MEMORY BOOKS | THU MAR 30 @ 6-7:30 PM | Ages 16+

Paper bag crafts galore!  This unique use of paper bags will have you getting crafty!  If you have pictures or little treasures from your children or grandchildren, this is a perfect place to store them! We will be making memory keepers from lunch bags.  Registration required! 

Ongoing Programs

ROMPER ROOM

Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike & trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome, though reserving a specific play time with family and friends assures availability.  

MONDAY MOVIES | 10 AM & 2 PM

Every Monday at 10 am and 2 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. Popcorn is served. For movie title and rating call the library or check the website.

MONTHLY BOOK DISCUSSION |MON MAR 27 @ 6:30 PM | Adults

Join the Friends of the Library book discussion of The President is Missing, by Bill Clinton and James Patterson, on Tuesday March 27 at 6:30 PM! Copies of the book are available to check out at the library, about two weeks in advance, while supplies last.

SPOT THE IRISH SPUD! | EVERYDAY DURING LIBRARY HOURS | ALL AGES

Stop in the library to play Spot the Spud! A potato is hidden somewhere on the main floor of the library. Keep your eyes peeled! Find the spud and win a small prize. Just bring that tater up to the front desk and notify a staff member. The search is open to all ages, and each person may be awarded a prize for finding Spud once per day.
