A two-vehicle crash on State Highway 26 in the Town of Waupun claimed the life of a 20-year-old Appleton woman Sunday evening. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say the woman was heading north on Highway 26 in a passenger car when her vehicle went sideways into the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound SUV. The woman died at the scene. The 60-year-old Waupun woman driving the SUV was taken to Waupun Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Speed and inattentive driving were contributing factors in the crash. The accident near Cattaraugus Road was reported at 5:45 pm. The State Patrol, Waupun Fire Department, and Lifestar Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
