1/31/23 Indoor Pickleball at Town Square

31 January 2023 News

GREEN LAKE, WI, — Warm up this Thursday with a casual night of indoor
Pickleball starting Feb. 2 at 7 pm, at Town Square Community Center in Green Lake.

People of all ability levels are encouraged to try out their skills at the casual Pickleball league
that will take place weekly, with each night having a new bracket, allowing players to join in on
the fun any time they can attend. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and a donation of $5 per player is
required to join the night’s schedule of play. There will be a cash bar for guests to purchase
both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

“The winter nights in Wisconsin are long, so let’s get out of our homes to have some fun,” said
Mark Wilton, organizing volunteer. “With Pickleball being so popular these days and with a court
being installed at Town Square, it presented the perfect opportunity to get people together, enjoy
a cold beer and play pickleball in a beginner-friendly environment.”

Pickleball, a game that combines many elements of badminton, tennis, and ping-pong,
continues to grow in popularity. Players use wooden paddles to volley a plastic ball over a net.
Town Square has equipment for players to use if they do not own their own paddles.

All proceeds benefit Town Square, an award-winning community center located in the historic
county courthouse buildings in the heart of downtown Green Lake. The mission of Town Square
Community Center is to enrich the lives of the Green Lake community members, family, and
friends by providing cultural, social, recreational, educational, and economic opportunities for
people of all ages. Town Square is operated by Green Lake Renewal, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit
organization.
