GREEN LAKE, WI, —Be prepared to bring the heat and put your cajun
cooking skills to the test at the New Orleans Gumbo Cookoff at Town Square Community
Center on Saturday, March 11. Local chefs and home cooks are invited to register for the
Gumbo Cookoff and enter their best gumbo for a chance to be crowned the crowd favorite. The
Creole vibes continue that evening with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band show at the Thrasher
Opera House.
“It’s time to spice it up!” Claire Maes, reigning 2nd place champion exclaims. “I had a blast
testing out my cajun cooking skills and was stoked to place 2nd last year against some killer
competition. I can’t wait to see who shows up this year!”
The Queen or King of Gumbo will receive tickets to a performance at the Thrasher Opera
House. There is a $10 entry fee and other details can be found at greenlaketownsquare.org.
