COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL WISCONSIN ANNOUNCES 2023 MAJOR PROJECT GRANT RECIEPIENT
Stevens Point, Wisconsin (January 5, 2023) – The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin has chosen Mid-State Technical College to receive the 2023 Major Project Grant for their new Project: The AMETA Center.
The new Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA) Center will provide advanced programming to the technical college’s students, high school students, and other community members with the goal to help train the next workforce in central Wisconsin
The AMETA Center is planned for an opening in late 2023 or early 2024 and is expected to serve over 1,500 people per year.
“The Foundation is excited to see the extensive impact to students and the workforce in our community.” Said Marlee Samuels, Director of Donor Services and Programs at the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, “the collaboration of generous organizations and individuals is astounding and will create a major impact in our community for years to come.”
The new almost 50,000 square-foot facility will also house office space for the Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (BAS) which will further support the 14 apprenticeship programs at Mid-State.
New programs and certificates in areas of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Fabrication Technology, Engineering, Mechanical Design, Welding, and others are planned to be offered in the new center.
